Nomsa Nkosi

Nomsa Nkosi is an Associate at Bowmans in Johannesburg, specialising in infrastructure law, project finance, and energy law. She has experience advising on banking and finance transactions across the Projects, Energy, and Infrastructure sectors, with a particular focus on the financing, construction, and operation of renewable energy projects under the South African REIPPPP and BESIPPPP procurement programmes.

Nomsa has advised Standard Bank on the financing of three Grootfontein solar projects developed by Scatec ASA as part of the REIPPPP fifth bidding round, which was the first project to achieve financial close in that round. She has also advised The Standard Bank of South Africa Limited and Absa Bank Limited on limited recourse financings for the Oasis Mookodi, Oasis Aggeneis, and Oasis Nieuwehoop Battery Storage Facilities, each with a capacity of 77MW. Her expertise includes drafting, reviewing, and negotiating project-related contracts, conducting due diligence investigations, and managing corporate documentation and conditions precedent processes.

Nomsa holds an LL.B from the University of the Witwatersrand and is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
