Zurisana Ntshangase

Zurisana Ntshangase is an Associate at Bowmans in Johannesburg, specialising in infrastructure law, project finance, and banking and finance. She advises leading international and local clients, including major commercial banks, development finance institutions such as IFC and DBSA, and international funding organisations, on complex cross-border financing transactions.

Zuri has advised Standard Bank Ltd on a cross-border transaction involving a USD 16 million facility advanced to Oryx Finance; Standard Bank, Scatec and H1 Holdings on reaching financial close on three Grootfontein photovoltaic solar power projects in the Western Cape with a total capacity of 273MW; and the sponsors on the financing of the Mulilo BESS Bid Window 2 portfolio and the Khauta South Wind Farm under the REIPPPP. She has also advised on land-related matters for financing a consortium led by Mulilo and TotalEnergies Renewables South Africa on the De Aar 2 South wind farm and Paarde Valley PV2 solar farm, as well as on various property finance transactions and debt capital markets matters. Her experience includes conducting legal and commercial due diligence, evaluating project risks and financial models, advising on bankability and financing structures, and drafting and negotiating financing, security and project agreements.

Zuri holds a BCom (Accounting Sciences) from Nelson Mandela University, an LL.B from the University of Johannesburg, and an LL.M in International Commercial Law from the University of Johannesburg. She is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
