Tshidi Vilakazi

Tshidi Vilakazi is a Senior Associate in the Corporate Department and a member of the Competition Practice at Bowmans in Johannesburg, specialising in competition law, merger control, and regulatory compliance. She advises clients across various industries on horizontal and vertical restrictive practices, abuse of dominance cases, market inquiry investigations, and competition litigation, with experience in merger notifications across multiple African jurisdictions.

Tshidi has advised Yamana Gold Inc. on the disposal of its shares to GoldFields Limited; Digital Titan (Pty) Ltd on its acquisition of TDE Investments; CNH Industrial on the acquisition of four business divisions of Capital Equipment Group from Invicta Holdings; a multinational ecommerce corporation on establishing a South African presence and on complaint proceedings before the South African Competition Commission; various corporations on the Online Intermediation Platforms Market Inquiry; and a large South African brewery on litigation proceedings before the Competition Tribunal. She has also assisted with competition law advice for one of the largest airlines in South Africa and pension law advice to Transnet in class action litigation.

Tshidi holds a BA (cum laude) and an LL.B (cum laude) from the University of the Witwatersrand. She clerked at the Constitutional Court in 2017/2018 for Acting Justices Jody Kollapen and Patricia Goliath.
