Robert Wilson

Robert Wilson is a Partner at Webber Wentzel in Johannesburg, specialising in Competition Law. He advises clients on complaint investigations and litigation, merger control, market inquiries, and compliance, with significant experience across a number of sectors including mining, liquid fuels, chemicals, plastics, construction, industrial and consumer goods, distribution and retail, financial services, healthcare, and information and communication technology.

He has extensive knowledge of the competition laws of many other African countries and regularly works on multi‑jurisdictional merger applications across the continent. He has been consistently recognised as a leading individual by Chambers Global (2013‑2026), Best Lawyers (2015‑2026), Legal 500 (2011‑2025), IFLR1000 (2010‑2022), and Who's Who Legal (2012‑2018, 2021), and was the exclusive winner for South Africa of the International Law Office's Client Choice Award 2013‑2014 for Competition.

Robert holds a Master of International Law and Economics from the University of Bern (2005), an LL.M from the University of London (1995), an LL.B (1992), and a BA (1990) from the University of Cape Town. He is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
