Thandeka Masimla

Thandeka Masimla is an Associate in the Competition Practice at Bowmans in Johannesburg, specialising in competition law, mergers and acquisitions, and regulatory compliance. She advises clients on domestic and cross-border transactions across various sectors.

Thandeka has advised Coca-Cola Beverages Africa in a landmark Constitutional Court matter concerning the correct test for merger specificity in retrenchments; African Infrastructure Investment Managers on its acquisition of Octotel Proprietary Limited; Harith InfraCo on its acquisition of Aldwych; and Old Mutual Insure on its acquisition of Genric Insurance Company. She has also advised clients on engagements with the Media and Digital Platforms Market Inquiry at the Competition Commission, and assisted Mobile Telephone Networks with a complete review and redraft of all its interconnect agreements and related documentation.

Thandeka holds a Bachelor of Laws, a Bachelor of Arts in Law, Labour and Economics, and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from the University of the Witwatersrand. She is admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
