Louise Cleland

Louise Cleland is a Partner at Shepstone & Wylie's Johannesburg office, specialising in competition law, corporate and commercial law, and mediation. She advises clients on prohibited practices, mergers, and other competition law‑related matters, and drafts a wide range of agreements including shareholders' agreements, memoranda of incorporation, and share sale and subscription agreements.

She started her career in commercial dispute resolution and has extensive experience in this field. She is accredited as a mediator by the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR), the largest independent dispute resolution body in Europe, with a particular interest in commercial, competition, and equine‑related disputes.

Louise holds a BCom from Stellenbosch University and an LLB from the University of South Africa (UNISA).
