Safiyya Patel

Safiyya Patel is the Managing Partner at Webber Wentzel in Johannesburg, specialising in mergers and acquisitions (M&A), general commercial law, and Black Economic Empowerment (B‑BBEE) transactions. She advises on joint ventures, company formations, reorganisations, and complex corporate transactions across the mining, financial, construction, media, telecommunications, broadcasting, and information technology sectors. She represents international clients, local enterprises, and state‑owned entities.

She has been consistently ranked as a leading practitioner by Chambers Global (2020‑2026), Best Lawyers (2015‑2026), IFLR1000 (2017‑2025), including its Women Leaders Guide (2018‑2025), Legal 500 (2012‑2025), and Who's Who Legal for Information Technology (2012‑2014) and Telecoms & Media (2019).
