Nseula Chilikhuma

Nseula Chilikhuma is a Senior Associate in the Litigation and Arbitration Practice at Bowmans in Johannesburg, specialising in dispute resolution, business rescue, and insolvency. He focuses on complex commercial disputes with an emphasis on business rescue, restructuring, and insolvency matters, advising business rescue practitioners, financial service providers, insurance companies, software providers, and mining entities.

Nseula has advised Sasol South Africa Limited on a fraud perpetrated by an employee resulting in losses exceeding ZAR 50 million, and instituted proceedings to recover those losses and preserve assets; DRA Global in the business rescue proceedings of Group 5 Ltd; PRASA in its litigation against Siyangena Technologies Limited relating to contracts worth ZAR 5.5 billion; the business rescue practitioner of Mango SOC Ltd (with creditor claims of approximately ZAR 2.5 billion); and a leading global social media platform on complex access to information requests under the Promotion of Access to Information Act. He has also advised on section 417 Insolvency Enquiries, section 155 compromises with creditors, voluntary and court-instituted liquidation proceedings, and representing secured creditors in formal business rescue proceedings.

Nseula holds an LL.B and a BA from the University of the Witwatersrand, and has completed a Short Course in Business Rescue at the University of Johannesburg. He is a member of INSOL International and SARIPA (South African Restructuring and Insolvency Practitioners Association).
