Norma Mazibuko

Norma Mazibuko is a Partner in the Employment and Benefits Practice at Bowmans in Johannesburg, specialising in employment law, remuneration governance, and reward strategy. She is a Master Reward Specialist with extensive experience advising Management and Board Remuneration Committees on Total Reward Strategies, Reward Philosophy and Strategy Design, as well as remuneration governance and compliance.

Norma has worked in various corporates as a Reward Manager and Head of Reward, with primary functions including setting and implementing policies for salary and benefits, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, retention, and recognition. She was responsible for Payroll, HR Management Information Systems, and Employee Wellness functions, and served as Principal Officer of a South African healthcare company's Provident Fund and Executive Director for a JSE-listed subsidiary. She has advised clients across mining, banking, insurance, real estate investment trusts, healthcare, retail, and telecommunications, with trusted clients including Harmony, Exxaro, Old Mutual, JSE, Absa, Netcare, MTN, Woolworths, and Growthpoint.

Norma holds a Master of Commerce from Northwest University, a BCom Honours and a BCom in Industrial Psychology from the University of Johannesburg, and is a Global Remuneration Professional (GRP) with World at Work (US). She is currently an MBA Candidate at the University of Reading-Henley Business School. She is a member of the Institute of Directors Southern Africa (IoDSA), the South African Reward Association (SARA), the South African Board for People Practices (SABPP), and World at Work (US), and serves on the SARA Professionalisation Committee and the Panel of Judges for the Annual Reward Project of the Year award.
