Michelle Gouws

Michelle Gouws is an Associate at ENS in the Project Development and Project Finance practice, specialising in Infrastructure Law. She focuses on renewable energy, infrastructure and project finance and development.

Michelle has advised on energy and infrastructure finance, drafting and reviewing finance and security documents, project documents, legal opinions and corporate authorisations. She has worked on complex cross-border matters involving international financing, secured and unsecured lending, refinancing transactions, and public-private partnership infrastructure financing. She has acted for large corporate entities, IPPs and financial institutions on major development projects, including solar photovoltaic (PV), battery energy storage system (BESS) and infrastructure projects. Michelle is also experienced in debt finance, corporate mergers and acquisitions and complex commercial disputes across the mining and metals, banking and financial services, oil, gas and chemicals, and infrastructure sectors.

Michelle holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Pretoria and is admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa. She is a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society.
