Kristel van Rensburg

Kristel van Rensburg is an Executive at ENS in the Tax practice, specializing in Tax Advisory Law. She focuses on corporate taxation, advising clients across the mining, financial services, renewable energy, and private equity sectors.

Kristel advises on direct corporate tax, withholding taxes, tax administration, tax compliance, and tax‑efficient acquisition, restructuring, and funding structures, as well as employment share incentive schemes. She is an expert in the tax‑efficient structuring, restructuring, financing, and refinancing of B‑BBEE investment and ownership transactions, including loans, equity, preference share funding, and notional vendor financing arrangements. She also has deep expertise in the South African tax aspects of local and international private equity fund formation and venture capital structures. She was involved in developing and implementing legislation regarding funding for acquisition transactions utilising group relief provisions in the Income Tax Act.

She holds an LL.B (cum laude) from the University of Pretoria, a HDipTax from the University of Johannesburg, and a Certificate in Mining Tax from the University of the Witwatersrand. She is admitted as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
