Dean du Toit

Dean du Toit is a Senior Associate in the Corporate Department of the Johannesburg office and a member of the firm's Tax Practice. He has over 10 years of tax experience, advising local and multi-national clients across a variety of industries, including banks and financial institutions, insurance, telecommunications, mining, retail, and logistics.

His expertise includes mergers and acquisitions, corporate tax issues, international tax matters, corporate and debt restructuring, tax due diligence, private equity transactions, B-BBEE transactions, tax dispute resolution, and deal implementation. Prior to joining Bowmans, he worked at a leading South African law firm and at two of the "Big Four" audit firms, gaining experience with clients across multiple sectors.

Dean holds an LLB and a post-graduate diploma in Corporate Law from the University of Johannesburg. He is described by Legal 500 as someone who "understands the client's brief and delivers a well-researched and workable outcome" (2025).
