Jon Forman

Jon Forman is a Partner based in Johannesburg. His primary practice area is Mergers and Acquisitions, and he specialises in all aspects of cross-border and domestic mergers and acquisitions, equity capital markets, black economic empowerment transactions, corporate finance and securities law.

He has advised clients across various industries, including mining, energy and the industrials sector. He spent six months working on secondment at Anglo American to assist with a number of M&A transactions.

He was named by Best Lawyers 2022–2026 as a leading individual.

He holds an LLM (Company Law) from the University of the Witwatersrand (2012), a Certificate in Sports Law from the University of Cape Town (2003), an LLB from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (1999) and a B.Com from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (1997). He is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
