Nicole Paige

Nicole Paige is a Partner at Webber Wentzel in Johannesburg, specialising in Mergers and Acquisitions with a focus on the formation of alternative investment funds. She advises local and international private equity and venture capital houses on fund formation, regulatory compliance, and investment structuring across South Africa and Africa, and also acts for limited partners investing in those funds. Her experience spans the full spectrum of generalist and sector funds, including buyout, real estate, debt, housing, healthcare, infrastructure, and renewable energy funds, as well as all regulatory aspects of investment funds.

She has been consistently ranked by Chambers Global (2010, 2022‑2026), Best Lawyers (2008‑2026) — including Lawyer of the Year for Private Equity Law 2022 — and Legal 500 (2012‑2025), where she is included in their Hall of Fame. She has also been named by Who's Who Legal (2013‑2020) as a leading lawyer in Private Funds: Formation. She acts on behalf of SAVCA in making representations to the Financial Sector Conduct Authority and South African Reserve Bank on legislative issues affecting the private equity industry, and sits on the legal and risk committee of the African Venture Capital Association (AVCA).
