Ari Chipkin

Ari Chipkin is an Associate in the corporate department and a member of the firm's Mergers and Acquisitions practice, based in the Johannesburg office. He has experience in a broad range of corporate and commercial transactions across various sectors, including public takeovers, take-privates, schemes of arrangement, domestic and cross-border private M&A, share and asset acquisitions and disposals, corporate restructuring, and due diligence.

Mr. Chipkin has advised on significant transactions including Groupe Canal+ S.A.S on its mandatory offer to MultiChoice Group shareholders for a consideration of ZAR 36 billion (Winner, Dealmakers Deal of the Year, 2024), the Peermont Group on the disposal of its assets to Sun International for ZAR 7.3 billion, and Mediterranean Shipping Company and Remgro on the take-private of Mediclinic International for ZAR 74 billion. He has also advised Mérieux NutriSciences on its acquisition of Bureau Veritas' food testing business, Quexco Incorporated on its acquisition of Metair Group's energy storage business, and Allianz X GmbH on its acquisition of Innovation Group Holdings.

He is fluent in English and Hebrew, and has worked across South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Mauritius, and Mozambique.
