Thabang Masingi

Thabang Masingi is a Partner specialising in mergers and acquisitions (M&A), mining transactions, and general corporate and commercial law. He has significant experience in domestic and cross‑border M&A across the African continent, including South Africa, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Nigeria, Angola, Mauritius, Mozambique, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kenya, and Tanzania.

He has advised clients on complex corporate transactions and regulatory compliance across multiple sectors and jurisdictions. Prior to joining Webber Wentzel, he worked for Skadden in New York, gaining international transactional experience.

Thabang holds an LLM (Commercial Law) from the University of South Africa (2007), an LLM (Human Rights & Democratisation in Africa) from the University of Pretoria (2006), an LLB from the University of South Africa (2004), and certificates in Prospecting & Mining Law and the Law of Banking & Financial Markets from the University of the Witwatersrand. He is a Fellow of the New York City Bar and an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
