Shmuel Moch

Shmuel Moch is a Partner in the Corporate Department and a member of the Mergers and Acquisitions Practice at Bowmans in Johannesburg, specialising in mergers and acquisitions and corporate and commercial law. He advises on domestic and cross‑border transactions across a broad range of sectors, including mining, finance, property, logistics, energy, and health and pharmaceuticals.

Shmuel has advised a family office on the South African aspects of its acquisition of a multinational solar‑panel wholesaler; a multinational mining company and commodities trader on the sale of certain South African coal mines via an auction process; a NYSE‑listed direct‑selling company on the sale of its South African subsidiary to a consortium of private equity funds; a South African property fund on the sale of two commercial property portfolios to a JSE‑listed REIT; and a foreign university on the sale of its South African business to a subsidiary of a JSE‑listed private education provider.

Shmuel holds a BCom (Law) (with distinction) and an LL.B (with distinction) from the University of the Witwatersrand.
