Daryn Webb

Daryn Webb is a Partner in the Johannesburg office, practicing in the firm's Infrastructure Law and Project Finance practice. He specialises in project and infrastructure finance, as well as corporate, project, and other finance, with experience in general corporate and commercial law and mergers and acquisitions. He has led teams that advised on the financing of significant black economic empowerment equity transactions and has advised on transactions across Botswana, Kenya, Mozambique, Nigeria, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

Mr. Webb has advised the International Finance Corporation and the Sierra Leone Ministry of Health on a proposed PPP for public laboratory services, the South African Department of Energy on all its IPP Procurement Programmes, and on the financing of gas and power plant infrastructure in Mozambique. He acted for Gigawatt Mozambique S.A. on its 100MW gas-fired power station in Mozambique, named Deal of the Year by African Investor for 2016. He has also advised on the financing of the Gautrain Rapid Link Project, on PPPs for new prisons in South Africa, and on the first PPP for office accommodation (DTI Campus) in South Africa.

Daryn holds a BA and LLB from the University of the Witwatersrand. He has been consistently ranked by Chambers Global for Projects and Energy in South Africa (Band 3, 2026; Band 1, 2017-2024), by IFLR1000 as a Highly Regarded Lawyer for Restructuring, Project Development, Banking, and Project Finance, and by Legal 500 as a Leading Partner in Projects and Infrastructure.
