Zola Mdledle

Zola Mdledle is an Associate in the Projects, Energy, and Infrastructure sectors at Bowmans in Johannesburg, specialising in infrastructure law and project finance. She has experience working on Banking and Finance transactions across renewable energy projects, with a strong focus on the financing, construction, and operation of power generation facilities.

She has assisted on transactions under the South African Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme (REIPPPP) and the Battery Energy Storage Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme (BESIPPPP). She has acted for major commercial banks, development finance institutions, and project developers, including advising ABSA Bank, Nedbank and Standard Bank on the construction and operation of two 100 MW photovoltaic solar power plants developed by Pele Energy Group, AMEA Power on a 20 MW photovoltaic solar power plant in Uganda, and Globeleq and African Rainbow Energy on the Red Sands 153 MW / 612 MWh standalone Battery Energy Storage System project in South Africa. Her experience includes drafting and reviewing key project documents such as EPC contracts, O&M agreements, and power purchase agreements, as well as preparing and reviewing finance and security documentation.

She holds an LL.B and a BA Law from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg.
