Jason van der Poel

Jason van der Poel is a Partner at Webber Wentzel in the Johannesburg office, specialising in Infrastructure Law. He has expertise in all aspects of project finance, advising lenders, sponsors and contractors on limited recourse project financings, public-private partnerships (PPPs), government support, partnerships and joint ventures, construction and operations contracts, power purchase agreements, procurement, syndicated and term loans, bond issues and securitisations.

Jason's practice spans energy, oil and gas, resources and infrastructure transactions. Prior to re-joining Webber Wentzel in 2019, he spent four years as a partner at Allen & Overy specialising in Africa projects, and previously worked at Allen & Overy in Amsterdam.

Jason holds an LL.M. in Banking & Finance Law from University College London (2000), an LL.B. and a B.Bus.Sci from the University of Cape Town (1998, 1996). He is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa and an admitted solicitor of England and Wales.
