Andrew Westwood

Andrew Westwood is a Partner at Webber Wentzel in the Cape Town office, specialising in Mergers and Acquisitions. He specialises in private equity transactional work, including leveraged acquisitions, structuring of management arrangements, refinancings, restructurings and disposal transactions.

Andrew also has experience in public and private mergers and acquisitions, Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) transactions, and general corporate and commercial law matters. He has advised on a number of leveraged buyouts by local and international private equity firms, as well as related transactions including follow-on investments, acquisitions, refinancings, BEE transactions and exits.

Andrew holds an LL.B. and a B.Soc.Sci from the University of Cape Town (2009, 2007) and a Certificate in Advanced Company Law from the University of the Witwatersrand (2012). He is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa.

He is ranked by Chambers Global (2026), named by Best Lawyers as a leading individual (2022–2026), and was recognised as a "next generation lawyer" by The Legal 500 in 2018.
