AmandlakaThixo Magubane

AmandlakaThixo Magubane is a Senior Associate in the firm's Employment and Benefits practice, based in the Johannesburg office. She advises corporate and public sector clients on various aspects of employment and administrative law, including unfair dismissals, disciplinary enquiries, review proceedings in the Labour Court, and litigation before the CCMA and the South African Local Government Bargaining Council.

Ms. Magubane has conducted investigations into employment-related issues and drafted investigation reports, advised clients on appropriate action, and instituted and chaired disciplinary proceedings against employees of state bodies and parastatals. She has participated as a speaker at the Annual Local Government Labour Law Seminars organised by SALGA and at the SASLAW Annual National Conference. She also conducts training on employment subjects including the prevention of workplace harassment, retrenchment processes, and strike management.

She holds an LLM and an LLB from the University of the Witwatersrand and is a Conflict Dynamics certified Mediator. She is a member of the Golden Key Society and sits on the National Committee of the South African Society for Labour Law. She was recognised by the International Employment Lawyer as one of Tomorrow's Leaders for 2024.
