Helen Wilsenach

Helen Wilsenach is the Head of Employment and Benefits at Bowmans in Johannesburg, specialising in employment law. She has been with the firm for over 20 years and advises clients across a wide range of sectors, including media, healthcare, banking and finance, mining, professional services, and retail and consumer goods. She has represented clients in employment disputes from the CCMA level up to the Constitutional Court, and has served as an acting judge of the Labour Court.

Her practice covers both contentious and non‑contentious employment matters, including executive exits, board restructurings, investigations, restraint of trade disputes, and complex matters relating to the employment aspects of corporate transactions, including section 197 of the Labour Relations Act. She also leads a team proficient in employment benefits, remuneration, and reward advisory services. She is a member of the South African Society for Labour Law (SASLAW) and is recognised by Chambers Global in Band 4 for Employment law in South Africa (2017‑2026).

Helen holds a BA and LL.B (cum laude) from Rhodes University.
