Ziphozethu Metu

Ziphozethu Metu is an Associate at Bowmans in Johannesburg, specialising in mergers and acquisitions, mining and energy law, and corporate finance. She has worked on complex transactions across the mining and renewable energy sectors, including cross-border investments and strategic joint ventures, with experience in negotiating and drafting shareholders' and subscription agreements, and corporate restructures for listed and unlisted entities.

Ziphozethu has advised African Rainbow Minerals Limited on a funded equity collar over its shareholding in Harmony Gold Mining Company Limited, an internal restructure of Opilac Proprietary Limited, and a CAD 30 million strategic private placement in Surge Copper Corp. She has also assisted Mulilo Energy Renewable Project Developments with template transaction agreements for renewable energy projects, and advised Centre Testing International Group on its acquisition of Safety SA (a South African testing, inspection, and training company) from Carlyle Sub-Saharan Africa Fund. She regularly supports mining and energy companies with governance, regulatory compliance, and company secretarial matters.

Ziphozethu holds an LL.B from the University of Pretoria and is a member of the Legal Practice Council.
