Ze'ev Blieden

Ze'ev Blieden is a Partner at Bowmans in Johannesburg, specialising in mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, and private equity. He has a broad corporate and M&A practice with a domestic and international client base across various sectors, including both public and private companies, with significant experience and expertise in transactions in the mining sector.

Ze'ev has advised Glencore AG on the USD 1 billion acquisition of Chevron's South African and Botswanan assets; Goldfields on the unbundling of various South African assets into and the listing of Sibanye Gold; a global financial institution and other underwriters in the Canal+ offer for Multichoice Group; International Finance Corporation on the disposal of their interest in Assupol Holdings; Ascendis Health on its recapitalisation, restructuring, delisting, and sale of its Pharmaceuticals and Skin Care divisions; AngloGold Ashanti on the acquisition of First Uranium's South African asset; and Edcon on its debt restructuring. He has also advised the Government of South Africa on the settlement with major listed construction companies relating to alleged collusion, and advised on various private acquisitions, equity capital raises, BEE transactions, and restructurings.

Ze'ev holds a BA and an LL.B from the University of the Witwatersrand, as well as a Certificate in Advanced Company Law I and II from the University of the Witwatersrand. He is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
