Soraia Machado

Soraia Machado is a Senior Associate in the Employment and Benefits Practice at Bowmans in Johannesburg, specialising in employment law and employee benefits. She advises clients on various aspects of employment law, including workplace investigations, section 197 business transfers, bargaining council demarcation disputes, unfair dismissal disputes, and compliance with the Compensation Fund and Unemployment Insurance Fund.

Soraia has assisted with litigation for Transnet and the Special Investigating Unit at the Special Tribunal on the preservation of funds and property for bribes and kickbacks received for unlawful procurement contracts; advised a bank on allegations of misconduct against a senior employee; and provided section 197 business transfer advice to Maersk. She also provides employment and employee benefits support to the corporate team on due diligence transactions.
