Robin Carr

Robin Carr is a Senior Consultant in the Employment & Benefits Practice at Bowmans in Johannesburg, specialising in employment law and dispute resolution. He advises on a broad range of employment issues, including mergers and transfers, dismissals, collective disputes, strikes, restraints of trade, discrimination, employment equity, and sexual harassment.

Robin has been involved in providing legal advice in both the private and public sectors, including advising the South African Police Service in relation to the Public Protector, the State Information Technology Agency (SITA) on investigations and disciplinary action, and a public sector Bargaining Council on its constitution and dispute resolution rules. Most recently, he successfully obtained an interdict for an employer in relation to the Metal and Engineering Industries strike. His experience extends to appearances in the Labour Court and in arbitrations.

Robin holds a BA and an LL.B from the University of the Witwatersrand.

He has been consistently ranked in Band 4 for Employment Law by Chambers Global (2015–2021) and is listed as a recommended lawyer for Employment Law in South Africa by The Legal 500.
