Shirleen Ritchie

Shirleen Ritchie is a Partner at Webber Wentzel in Johannesburg, specialising in Tax Advisory Law. She is part of the mergers and acquisitions tax team, advising on corporate tax considerations as part of complex transactions, with particular expertise in private equity and renewable energy investment structuring.

She has extensive experience advising clients on tax‑efficient structuring for M&A transactions, corporate restructurings, and investment structures across various sectors. She has been recognised as a leading individual by Best Lawyers (2026), as a legal expert by Legal 500 (2022‑2024), and as a Rising Star by International Tax Review's World Tax (2023). She ranked third in South Africa in the Ernst & Young (now EY) Young Tax Professional of the Year competition in 2014.

Shirleen holds an LLB (2010) and a B.Com (2008) from the University of Pretoria. She is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
