Romane Paul

Romane Paul is a Senior Associate in the Dispute Resolution Department at Bowmans in Johannesburg, specialising in dispute resolution, commercial litigation, and maritime law. She joined Bowmans in January 2015 as a candidate attorney in the Durban office in the Shipping and Litigation practices, assisting clients in the maritime industry with vessel and bunker arrests, ship sales, claiming from sale funds, salvage, security, and other related issues.

Romane is now a member of the litigation team in the Johannesburg office, with experience covering a wide range of disputes and settlements in areas of commercial, corporate, employment, and insurance law, as well as general and commercial litigation in both the High Court and the Magistrate's Court. Since 2011, she has been a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society, and was appointed as a student mentor in 2013. She was employed as a Graduate Research Assistant for the Unit of Maritime Law at UKZN in 2014, and is accordingly an experienced researcher in respect of a wide range of maritime-related topics, including oil pollution, maritime security, and salvage.

Romane holds an LL.B from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
