Robyn Retief

Robyn Retief is an Associate in the Private Equity practice at Bowmans in Johannesburg, specialising in mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, and private equity advisory. She advises local and international clients on a broad range of upstream and downstream transactions, including fund formation, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate advisory work.

Robyn has supported senior practitioners on mandates across the transaction lifecycle, from legal due diligence and transaction structuring through to implementation and post-transaction advisory services. Her experience includes preparing and reviewing fund documentation, drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, and advising on cross-border transactions involving multinational corporate groups, including coordinating with local and foreign advisers and regulatory bodies as part of multi-jurisdictional transactions.

Robyn holds a Bachelor of Arts in Law and a Bachelor of Law from the University of Stellenbosch. She is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa and a member of the Legal Practice Council of South Africa.
