Kate Peter

Kate Peter is a Partner in the Corporate Department and a member of the Private Equity Practice at Bowmans in Johannesburg, specialising in mergers and acquisitions and private equity. She has experience in both upstream (fund formation, fund‑of‑funds work, and co‑investment transactions) and downstream (acquisitions and disposals of investments) private equity work.

Kate has assisted a private equity house on the disposal of its investment in a fruit exporter, and the establishment of a private equity fund focused on Sub‑Saharan investments in the energy industry. She has also assisted a private equity house on the disposal of its investment in an FMCG company incorporated in Nigeria, advised on Phatisa's acquisition of Kanu Equipment from Torre Industries, and assisted Convergence Partners on its investment in South African technology company Snapt.

Kate holds a Bachelor of Social Science and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Cape Town. She has gained cross‑border experience working as a secondee in Bowmans' Kenyan office.
