Richardt van Rensburg

Richardt van Rensburg is an Executive in the Competition / Antitrust practice at ENS, specializing in Competition Law. He has 19 years of experience as an African competition law specialist, advising on high‑profile and complex competition law matters across the continent, including cartel conduct, damages claims, corporate leniency, abuse of dominance, merger regulation, and contested mergers.

Richardt is an expert in all competition law aspects of local and international private equity acquisitions and disposals, and has an unrivalled understanding of the merger control and antitrust landscape in Africa. He has advised clients in relation to most operational African antitrust regimes, including Botswana, CEMAC, COMESA, ECOWAS, DRC, eSwatini, Kenya, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Tanzania, WAEMU, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. He is a competition law lecturer at Nelson Mandela University and has been published in respected law publications and presented at antitrust conferences.

He holds a BCom and LL.B from Stellenbosch University and is admitted as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
