Nonhlelo Nhleko

Nonhlelo Nhleko is a Senior Associate in the Corporate Department and a member of the Mergers and Acquisitions Practice at Bowmans in Johannesburg, specialising in mergers and acquisitions and corporate and commercial law. She advises on private and public M&A, drafting commercial agreements, conducting legal due diligence investigations, and advising clients on regulatory and corporate governance issues of varying complexities in the South African M&A environment.

Nonhlelo has advised MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company SA in a consortium with Remgro Limited on the Recommended Cash Acquisition of Mediclinic International plc, a take-private transaction with an enterprise value of approximately ZAR 125 billion; Old Mutual Limited on its ZAR 2.8 billion B-BBEE ownership transaction; MTN Dubai Limited on its disposal of 50% of the shares in aYo Holdings to Sanlam Emerging Markets; African Rainbow Capital on its acquisition of Tyme Bank; Naspers Foundry on its acquisition of We Buy Cars; Sasol SA on its sale of a 30% stake in ROMPCO; and African Rainbow Capital Investments on its ZAR 750 million pro rata non-renounceable rights offer.

Nonhlelo holds a Bachelor of Laws degree with distinction from the University of Pretoria and postgraduate certificates in Advanced Company Law I and II from the University of the Witwatersrand. Prior to joining Bowmans, she worked at another leading South African law firm.
