Charissa Beyers

Charissa Beyers is a Senior Associate at Bowmans in the Johannesburg office, specialising in Mergers and Acquisitions. She has experience in domestic and cross‑border public and private M&A, equity capital markets transactions and advisory, corporate restructuring, corporate governance and empowerment transactions.

Charissa has advised on numerous significant transactions, including Pick n Pay Group Ltd on its ZAR4 billion rights offer, Telkom SA SOC Ltd on the disposal of its Masts and Towers Business (Swiftnet) valued at approximately ZAR75 billion, Assore Ltd on its ZAR7 billion take‑private and subsequent delisting, and advising South African advisors to Sussex Bidco LP (backed by Blackstone Inc.) on the acquisition of Industrials REIT Ltd valued at approximately GBP511 million. She has also advised Sanlam and AECI Ltd on B‑BBEE and empowerment transactions.

Charissa holds an LL.B. (summa cum laude) from the University of KwaZulu‑Natal, a Certificate in Advanced Corporate and Securities Law (with distinction) from UNISA, and a Certificate in Advanced Business Rescue Practice from UNISA.

She is recognised by IFLR1000 as a Rising Star for her work in South Africa (2025).
