Nina Keyser

Nina Keyser is a Partner at Webber Wentzel, specializing in Tax Law. She focuses on tax dispute resolution and tax controversy management, with over twenty years' experience representing taxpayers in a broad spectrum of tax disputes with Revenue Authorities in South Africa and other African countries.

Nina advises clients during large transactions and prior to return submissions, assists taxpayers in regularising their affairs with SARS, and provides advice to clients under audit or investigation by SARS. She has represented several oil and gas companies in negotiations with the National Treasury on the introduction of the Tenth Schedule to the Income Tax Act. Prior to joining Webber Wentzel in 2004, she spent eight years as a legal advisor at SARS, resolving disputes, providing legal and tax advice to audit teams, and prosecuting tax evaders.

She holds an LL.B from Stellenbosch University (1993), an LL.M in Tax Law from the University of Cape Town (1996), and a Programme in Legal Practice (cum laude) from the University of Cape Town (1994). She also holds a Diploma in Insolvency Practice (cum laude), a Certificate in Project Management (cum laude), and an Intermediary Certificate in Taxation (cum laude). She is admitted as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.

Nina has been recognised by Chambers Global (2022‑2026), Best Lawyers (2020‑2026), The Legal 500 (2014‑2025), and International Tax Review's World Tax (2022‑2023). She is a member of the Tax and Commercial Law Committee of the Cape Law Society.
