Michael Tucker

Michael Tucker is an Executive at ENS and Head of the Shipping, Ports and Logistics practice, specialising in Maritime Law. He focuses on a broad range of shipping and admiralty law matters, with particular expertise in liability and defence disputes and marine insurance.

Michael has acted on instructions from International Group P&I clubs, marine insurers, owners and operators, and lawyers in the United Kingdom, Greece, Scandinavia, the United States, Hong Kong, Korea, Japan and Australia. His experience includes arrest and attachment, casualty investigation, collision, pollution, cargo and P&I disputes, wreck, salvage and towage matters, charter party disputes, and ship finance and sale and purchase transactions. He has represented various owners' interests at every marine court of enquiry convened by South African authorities in recent years and has been involved in numerous casualties off the South African coastline, including groundings, collisions, sinkings and salvage operations.

Michael holds an LL.B. and an LL.M. from the University of Cape Town. He is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
