Marike Faught

Marike Faught is a Senior Manager in the Dispute Resolution Department and a member of the Corporate Investigations Practice at Bowmans in Johannesburg, specialising in compliance law and forensic investigations. She has over eight years of professional forensic investigation experience, having joined Bowmans as a forensic investigator in 2019 after consulting for the Firm since 2018.

Marike has conducted investigations in both the private and public sectors, covering allegations of fraud, procurement irregularities, possible contraventions of Exchange Control Regulations, corruption, conflicts of interest, and asset misappropriation. She has investigated fraud and Exchange Control violations by a large group of international companies across multiple jurisdictions; fraud, corruption, and procurement irregularities at a private steel company and a large government institution; and conflicts of interest between executives and service providers at a large mobile operator. She has also conducted internal investigations for international companies into property portfolio compliance and regulatory failures at South African stores, and performed asset verifications for one of the largest tertiary institutions.

Marike holds a BCom in Forensic Accountancy and a BCom Honours in Forensic Accountancy from North West University. She is a Certified Fraud Examiner with the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
