Marco Sequeira

Marco Sequeira is an Associate at DLA Piper in Johannesburg, specialising in Banking and Finance Law. He has experience in various types of local and cross‑border debt finance transactions, including leveraged, acquisition, real estate, project, corporate, and structured finance, as well as syndicated lending, refinancing, and preference share funding transactions.

He has advised an international distributor as borrower on multiple revolving credit facilities with a total commitment of EUR 50 million and related security arrangements, and advised a major African regional bank as lender on a USD 29.4 million project finance facility for the development, financing, construction, and operation of a 9.7MW run‑of‑the‑river hydropower plant.

He holds a BCom Law (cum laude) (2020) and an LLB (cum laude) (2022) from the University of Pretoria, as well as a Graduate Diploma in Law (cum laude) (2021) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Legal Practice (2022) from The University of Law. He is admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa and is a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society.
