Lenee Green

Lenee Green is a Partner based in Johannesburg. Her primary practice area is Insurance Law, and she specialises in financial services regulation.

Her expertise includes insurance law, financial markets, pension funds and banking law. She advises on the regulation of financial institutions, financial service providers and intermediaries, market conduct, licensing requirements, regulatory approvals, anti-money laundering frameworks, group governance, policy frameworks and financial products (including derivatives and commercial paper).

She has experience in corporate structuring, engagement with regulators, advising on multi-disciplinary transactions in the financial services sector, insurance business transfers and drafting regulatory agreements. She also advises on matters relating to retail distribution models, cell captive structures and remuneration models.

She has a keen interest in the National Health Insurance Bill and the impact on insurance and medical schemes. She holds an LLM in Mercantile Law from the University of Pretoria (2012), an LLB (with distinction) from the University of Pretoria (2009) and a B.Com (Law) from the University of Pretoria (2007). She is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
