Zelda Swanepoel

Zelda Swanepoel is a Partner at Webber Wentzel in Johannesburg, specialising in insurance law, financial services regulation, and financial sector legislation. She has extensive experience advising insurers, reinsurers, financial conglomerates, asset managers, and other financial services providers on a wide range of regulatory, corporate, and commercial matters.

She advises on financial conglomerate and insurance group supervision and regulation, reorganisations of large financial services groups, partnerships and joint venture transactions with insurers and financial institutions, bancassurance transactions, remuneration models, product structuring, cell captive regulation, and anti‑money laundering. She also regularly represents clients in investigations, enforcement actions, and litigation matters, and interacts with various regulatory authorities on behalf of clients.
