Kim Rew

Kim Rew is a Partner at Webber Wentzel, specializing in Dispute Resolution. He focuses on insurance and commercial disputes, with a particular emphasis on professional indemnity and liability‑related matters, acting for local and international insurers and brokers on liability and recovery matters as well as policy coverage issues.

Kim has 25 years of post‑qualification experience across financial services, tax, audit, accounting, intermediary, professional indemnity, fire, and construction‑related claims. He advises auditors on regulatory issues and assists in disciplinary actions, and has expertise in corporate dispute resolution and cross‑border class actions. More recently, he has advised on cyber risks, email hacks, breaches, and cyber‑related liability matters. He holds a master's degree in Tax and is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), providing valuable expertise in assisting clients with privileged and highly sensitive financial investigations.

He holds an LL.B and B.Com from Stellenbosch University (1996, 1998), an LL.M in Commercial Law and an Honours in Tax from the University of Cape Town (2001, 2007), and a Certificate in International Legal Studies from the University of Antwerp, Belgium (1999). He is admitted as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
