Kevin Hillis

Kevin Hillis is a Partner at Webber Wentzel in Johannesburg, specialising in corporate and commercial law, with a focus on public and private mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and equity capital markets in Africa. He represents domestic and international companies as well as financial institutions in all aspects of complex cross‑border transactions and advises on securities regulation.

Kevin has extensive experience advising clients on high‑value M&A transactions, capital raisings, and corporate restructurings across the African continent. Prior to joining Webber Wentzel in 2006, he worked for a global law firm in the City of London.

He holds an LLB from the University of the Witwatersrand (2003), a Higher Diploma in Advanced Company Law from the University of the Witwatersrand (2007), a Certificate in Advanced Corporate Law and Securities Law from the University of South Africa (2008), and a Certificate in Prospecting and Mining Law from the University of the Witwatersrand (2009). He is admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa and as a solicitor of England and Wales. He has been named by IFLR1000 (2018‑2022) as a leading lawyer.
