Kelly Mzobe

Kelly Mzobe is an Associate in the Dispute Resolution and Litigation and Arbitration practice at Bowmans' Johannesburg office, focusing on commercial litigation, mediation and arbitration.

She has played a pivotal role in several wide-ranging commercial disputes, including advising Hamilton B.V. on behalf of Claims Fund Europe in litigation arising from the Steinhoff financial fraud, involving claims in excess of ZAR 10 billion; assisting a public entity in confidential arbitration proceedings against a foreign entity with claims in excess of ZAR 500 million; acting for a telecommunications company to review and set aside a tender award by the South African Police Services valued at ZAR 20 million per month; and representing SANTS Private Higher Education Institution in a claim against the Department of Education in KwaZulu-Natal for damages of approximately ZAR 36 million.

Kelly holds an LL.B and a B.A. from Rhodes University and was admitted as a member of the Legal Practice Council in 2021. She is recognised as a Recommended Lawyer by The Legal 500 for dispute resolution (2024).
