Callum O'Connor

Callum O'Connor is a Partner in the firm's Dispute Resolution and Litigation practice, based in the Johannesburg office. He has experience in high-value and complex commercial disputes and investigations both in South Africa and globally, with a strong emphasis on asset tracing and fraud claims, compliance and investigations, restructuring and insolvency litigation, and class actions.

Mr. O'Connor has advised a major South African bank on loan financing and interest rate swaps with reputational concerns involving regulatory authorities, a listed mining company on misappropriations exceeding USD 44 million with asset tracing across multiple jurisdictions, and an Emirati sovereign wealth fund on investigation of widespread fraud and recovery of funds in various jurisdictions. He has also advised on FCPA investigations, administrative review proceedings before the Constitutional Court, and class action defence including the Silicosis Class Action.

Callum holds an LLB from the University of the Witwatersrand and a B.Soc.Sci in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from the University of Cape Town. He has been ranked by Chambers Global in Corporate Investigations and Dispute Resolution, and by Legal 500 as a Next Generation Partner in Dispute Resolution.
