Kara Barnard

Kara Barnard is a Senior Associate in the Employment practice at ENS, specializing in employment law and advising clients across industries including the automobile and construction sectors.

She advises on unfair dismissal, retrenchment, restraints of trade and organisational rights disputes, and is experienced in drafting pleadings for the South African Labour Court, the CCMA, the High Court and magistrates' courts, as well as employment contracts and settlement agreements. She also advises on pension law and employee benefits, including pension funds adjudicator complaints, duties of trustees, fund management and compliance issues, and has experience in civil litigation.

Kara holds an LL.B from the University of South Africa and a Certificate in Compliance Management from the University of Cape Town. She is admitted as an attorney and notary public of the High Court of South Africa.
