Kabwela Chisaka

Kabwela Chisaka is a Partner in the Dispute Resolution Department at Bowmans in Johannesburg, specializing in Dispute Resolution. She has experience in commercial arbitrations, High Court, Supreme Court and Constitutional Court litigation, mediation, commissions of inquiry, and National Consumer Tribunal proceedings, as well as tax litigation for major mining companies and due diligence for international corporations.

Kabwela has been involved in several of the major class actions in South Africa, including the silicosis class action (Nkala v Harmony Gold), the listeriosis outbreak litigation, the Transnet class action, and the "Bread" class action. She also acted for Ford Motor Company of South Africa in litigation related to the Ford Kuga recall, and represented Mr Cyril Ramaphosa at the Marikana Commission of Inquiry. Her experience spans mining, consumer banking, pension funds, tax, energy and infrastructure, advertising, transport, FMCG, construction, and corporate governance.

She holds BSc, BSc (Hons), and LL.B degrees from Rhodes University.
