Busisiwe Nhlapo

Busisiwe Nhlapo is a Partner in the firm's Dispute Resolution practice, based in the Johannesburg office. She advises domestic and multinational corporate clients, primarily in the mining and financial services sectors, as well as professional services firms and public bodies, on a wide range of commercial, regulatory, administrative, and dispute-related matters.

Ms. Nhlapo has significant experience in large-scale commercial disputes, judicial review proceedings, corporate investigations, public procurement challenges, anti-corruption advisory work, class actions, energy-sector regulation, and arbitration. Her notable representations include advising the Prudential Authority before the Financial Services Tribunal, acting for a leading international energy company on transmission project regulation, representing the South African Reserve Bank in forfeiture proceedings, and advising a major South African bank in civil proceedings in South Africa and the UK. She has also been involved in major corporate and white-collar crime investigations and class actions, including the largest class action to date in South Africa.

She holds an LLB from the University of Pretoria (2012) and an LLM from the University of Stellenbosch (2025), and is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
