Joshua Janks

Joshua Janks is a Partner in Bowmans' Cape Town office, focusing on mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and venture capital transactions. He advises public and private companies, private equity firms and investment houses across sectors including FinTech, renewables, real estate and agriculture.

He has deep experience in cross-border transactions across Africa and beyond, and has advised on all aspects of private equity and venture capital work, including fund formations and acquisitions. Notable transactions include advising Solevo Holdings on its acquisition of Rolfes Holdings, advising Quicket and its shareholders on the disposal to Ticketmaster and Live Nation, advising ATON GmbH on its public takeover bid for Murray & Roberts, advising Capitec Bank on its acquisition of Mercantile Bank, and advising Climate Fund Managers on its various climate fund initiatives and green hydrogen funds in Namibia and South Africa. He also advised GRIT on various African property acquisitions and the acquisition of a controlling interest in Gateway Real Estate Africa, as well as advising 4Di Capital, Agri-Vie, Sanari Capital and Inspired Evolution on fund formations and acquisitions.

Joshua holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of the Witwatersrand, and completed the Leading Professional Services Firms Programme at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.
