Jacqui Kaufmann

Jacqui Kaufmann is an Executive in the Shipping, Ports and Logistics practice at ENS, specialising in maritime law, shipping and admiralty litigation, and marine insurance. She focuses on a broad range of shipping and admiralty law matters, including High Court litigation, ship arrests, security attachments, casualty investigations, wreck and salvage matters, charterparty disputes, and cargo claims.

Jacqui acts for local and international marine insurance companies, shipping lines and agents, and vessel owners and operators. Her experience includes casualty investigations and resultant litigation, applications for access and evidence‑preservation, sale of ships, and pilotage matters. She regularly advises on enforcement of maritime claims and dispute resolution in the shipping sector.

Jacqui holds a BSc from Stellenbosch University, a BSc (Med) (Honours) from the University of Cape Town, an LL.B from the University of Cape Town, and an LL.M in Shipping from the University of Cape Town. She is admitted as an attorney and notary of the High Court of South Africa.

She is ranked as a next generation lawyer in Shipping and Transport by The Legal 500 EMEA and recognised by Chambers Global Guide for Shipping.
