Ridah Wouters

Ridah Wouters is a Senior Associate in the Shipping and Logistics practice, specialising in maritime law. She has extensive experience in admiralty dispute resolution, security arrests, casualties, ship sale and purchase, and carriage of goods matters. She represents ship‑owners, charterers, insurers, sellers, and exporters in complex maritime and shipping disputes.

She has acted for ship‑owners and insurers of a container vessel following a fire on board to manage access and investigate the incident, acted for Sellers in the sale of a motor vessel, and advised an exporter of rock powdered phosphate on sanctions imposed following the Russia‑Ukraine war. She also advises ship owners, charterers and their insurers on enforcement of international arbitration awards in South Africa, obtaining security for ongoing international arbitration proceedings, and ship arrests and associated ship arrests.

Ridah holds a B.Soc.Sci. (International Relations & Psychology) and LL.B from the University of Cape Town. She is a member of the Maritime Law Association of South Africa.
